The Sistrum

What is a Sistrum ?

Why did we choose this name?

The Sistrum, depicted in the photo on the right, is the instrument (rattle) used by the priestesses in the Temple of Isis in Egypt.  It was shaken to clear chaos and negativity, setting the stage and activating the energies for their sacred ceremonies.

We chose the name, The Sistrum, to invoke the ancient spirit of awakening, bringing in clarity and truth as we know it while dispelling chaos and negativity.

More About The Sistrum

Our Purpose:

To open a sacred space of Love and Light that supports and invites others into their own personal awakening and expansion.

Our Mission:

To serve humanity by being an example of living integrity as we experience our own journey.  To do what is needed to continuously deepen and expand, allowing the Truth of who we are to emerge.  Through connection to inner knowing, we create a safe environment inviting infinite possibilities.  We release others to their own discernment, thus empowering them to make the choices that are in alignment with their own highest good.

Our Beliefs and Understandings:

 - We believe that everyone has the ability to channel their inner knowing -  their inner divine guidance.  We encourage everyone to be open to this possibility. There are many different ways to experience this guidance and there is no one right way to receive the messages.

 - All beliefs are welcome at our sessions.  We are generic in our approach.  We choose not to reveal who or what we are channeling, only that they are "of the Light."  We feel the words and the energy delivered with the messages are more important that the named source.

 -  We channel the highest available source of the Light and we channel the messages through our hearts.

 - Channeling is information that comes through the higher perspective of Spirit. The information we receive is based on events and decisions that have led up to the present. Future events are based on probabilities that build on the present moment.  All outcomes are modified by the possible subsequent choices made in the questioner's life after the channeling.

 - Discernment is the most important factor in having any reading, channeling, or understanding. Discernment empowers us all.  Learning to feel with one's body if something resonates - feels right or not- is the first step in living one's Truth.  Take what "fits or resonates" and leave the rest.

What we are:

 - The Sistrum is a service-oriented organization.  We provide a service for those who seek our assistance for their questions of life.  Each Open to the Public Channeling Session hosts a panel of at least 3 and up to 7 channelers who provide variations in perspectives in the answers they give to the questions asked. When a question is asked, it is Spirit that provides the answer through us.  We are all volunteers who pay dues quarterly to help defray the costs of our day to day operation. We are regular people with regular lives. Some of us work regular jobs. We are all paying it forward.

What we are not:

 - We are not a business.  We request a free will offering from our attendees to help pay the cost of renting the room, advertising and to help pay for our transportation. Our quarterly dues and our free will donations fund most of our expenses.  The Sistrum does not have any bank accounts.

 - We are not a cult.  Our members have a variety of spiritual and religious beliefs. We do not require an adherence to any particular belief or philosophy.

Regarding the energy and messages that are being shared with all of us today and every day:

If it sings to your heart, take it in and use it.  If it helps to heal and brings you to a place of understanding then celebrate it.  If you can weep with joy because it helped you to find your purpose or your path, then embrace it.  If it awakens you to a grander purpose, helps you to find the Creator within, promotes feelings of love and joy, then open yourself to it.

However, if it criticizes, creates drama, feels negative, is pushy or is condescending, use your discernment, tap into your inner knowing and keep that which does not resonate outside your fields. Take what fits and leave the rest.
